When in France filming 'The way' documentary, we stumbled across the Yamakasi guys teaching some of their students. We were invited to hang out with them and for a whole day, spent time with Malik Diouf, Charles Perriere and Guylain N'Guba-Boyeke, who were really cool guys. Of all, Malik seemed to be the one with entrepreneurial tendencies and had set up a clothing company called YKI. He had some great gift boxes which contained a tee-shirt, lanyard and wristbands. We ended up buying a load and were singing their praises in the hope that things would develop. Sadly, the project died on its feet and didn't go anywhere. Maybe someday it'll be resurrected again?
